Silent Heroes...The Living Water Programme
There exist many silent heroes and heroines in Jamaica who have been dedicating themselves to helping those less fortunate, with very limited resources. One such example are the founders of the Living Water Programme, Rayon and Lisa Stone. They have started a program in the community of Franklyn Town that empowers residents through education and skills development.
The first phase of the program started in October 2010 and was rolled out progressively through a series of activities comprising of academic enhancement and career placement. The programme offers free CSEC classes to community residents and are delivered by volunteer teachers. Sponsorships are sought to assist students with their exam fees.
EHF is elated to be partnering in this initiative and has already sponsored a desk top computer and desks and chairs combo. We have also made commitment to assist selected students with their exam fees.
Supporting Education is an integral part of our mission.
